    Abandoned due to disgusting offensive and completely unnecessary rape scene To be clear offensive because of the context and the way it was described and presented not simply because there was a rape scene Suffice to say this book should come with a big fuck off trigger warning I already thought the main characters were both idiots

    At first I thought this was supposed to be a satire but I wasn't sure what exactly was being satirised Italian society as a whole? The literary scene? It seemed to lack focus But as it went on I realised that it was just a lurid violent black comedy without very much to say about the world Maybe if you accept that you might find it
